 f you are a
professional musician, playing any type of gig today, you can
see that the entire world of music is changing while we watch.
I'm 62, and the music world I grew up in and worked in has
changed. The support, applause and esteem a good territory
jazz/big band player used to receive has packed up and moved to
Canada, Europe, Japan, and South America, leaving in it's swath
a population of Musicians trying to adapt to the current trends
by buying laptops, minidisc players, karaoke tape and CD
devices, and, of course the MP3 player. The singers and
instrumental soloists of today can perform at a concert or
clubdate without a live band.

 f you've been playing
for a while you have been told many incredible things by club
owners, record executives, personal managers, leaders, and
anyone who has a chance at making a buck off your chops. People
from all over the world have sent me their musician -lies- to
post. Visit my Great
Musician Lies Pages(3), read the postings, realize that you,
too, have heard these same things, and then think of the things
that you have been told and send them to me.(exp. "Don't worry,
there'll be a roadie there to help you tear down" or "Don't worry about that note - we'll correct it in the mix"). If you are a
leader or a sideman, check out the biblical take on clubdating
by clicking on
Book of Jobbing, and after that check out my 11 pages of - Musician
